Bleak thought abt the future ...
The way the world is progressing right now, very soon we will require less and less people to do the same old things ! However, the population growth is not really slowing down so there is only going to be one result of this - tremendous unemployment !!
so mob scenes and basically the scenario from all those bleak futuristic movies might be a reality !
Thoughts - this is meant to launch discussions so do pitch in !

Compared with Taipei, Delhi is still doing things in a funny way. Shops with n times of staff than necessary, people transporting things in funnny way..including water, and, did you notice how people cut the grass in front of India Gate? Fortunately, your city can still afford the inefficiency so far.
People are poor because 5 shop staff are sharing the salary of 3. But your people are happier with the hidden unemployment. at least I feel so.
Few years back, Taipei people started to be on prozac, and today, half of them need anti-depression help.
Yes, when people become smart enough to fire other people, unemployment shows and causes other problems in the society. People without a job become blue, and people with a job become stressed.
No smart words from my side ...... if people can avoid being driven solely by money or work, and remember to smile all the time, they will be fine.
I told them I am super interested to see the changing India in the following 2 decades. I feel your people can handle it better and happier. Good luck.
